FAQ
Why is natural rubber the base of all our mats?
Rubber is a natural, biodegradable, and environmentally friendly material. Our mats are manufactured using fully tested rubber, free of any harmful artificial substances such as lead, cadmium, latex, or silicone. An important characteristic of natural rubber is its durability even under frequent use. Natural rubber is a dense material and has excellent insulating properties, allowing even a thin layer to provide cushioning. This makes natural rubber an ideal base for yoga mats .
What makes the PRO and PRO PLUS mat so incredibly grippy?
The top layer of the PRO and PRO PLUS mats is made of the highest quality polyurethane, which has extraordinary properties. It's durable, flexible, incredibly grippy, and odorless thanks to its structure. Top-quality polyurethane is an expensive material, but only it guarantees the superior quality of our PRO mats. Of course, there are many cheaper polyurethanes with lower classifications, but they can't deliver the exceptional grip our mats possess. We also know that we are one of the few companies in the world using this specific, high-quality material to produce yoga mats.
What makes the FLOW mat so soft to the touch?
The top layer of the FLOW mats is made of a soft, durable microfiber, printed with eco-friendly, skin-friendly water-based inks. Its absorbent properties make it ideal for intense workouts. What else do we love about microfiber? It's machine washable, making keeping our mats clean incredibly easy.
How are the mat layers joined?
We combine both microfiber and polyurethane with a natural rubber base by welding the layers together. We don't use any toxic adhesives in our production.
Where is my mat made and why?
We produce our mats in China, in a proven, highly experienced factory with which we have been collaborating for almost five years. The primary reason for choosing this production location is the availability of natural rubber, which is the basis of all our mats. Natural rubber is sourced primarily in Asia and South America. It is not possible to source it in Europe. When establishing the brand, we decided to strive to organize production in the place where the material used for each product comes from. This approach aims to reduce transportation and environmental impact.
How is my mat transported?
To reduce the negative environmental impact resulting from transport, we deliver the mats to Poland by rail.
What is the difference between the FLOW and PRO mat?
FLOW series mats are designed for dynamic yoga practice. The top layer of the mat is covered with smooth microfiber, ensuring smooth transitions during sequences. The mat's grip increases as the body warms up, providing support during the most intense practice. Additionally, the mat's smooth surface engages the hands and feet, motivating increased muscle activity. The mats are available in three thicknesses: FLOW 3 mm, FLOW Travel 1.5 mm, and FLOW Nano 1 mm.
PRO series mats are characterized by uncompromising grip. They ensure safe, slip-free practice and complete stability during the most advanced balance poses and for extended periods of asana. They are great for beginners learning new poses and needing additional support for their hands and feet. The mats are available in two thicknesses: PRO 2.5 mm and PRO PLUS 4.5 mm.
What is the difference between the FLOW, FLOW Travel and FLOW Nano mat?
The Travel and Nano mats differ from the FLOW mat only in thickness. They offer the same exercise space, yet are thinner and lighter than a regular mat. You can fold them into a suitcase or bag and keep them with you when you're on the go. You can practice directly on the FLOW Travel mat or, like the FLOW Nano mat, place them on top of your studio mat for hygiene.
What is the difference between the PRO and PRO PLUS mat?
The PRO PLUS mat differs from the PRO mat in thickness. It is also the thickest mat in the collection, providing maximum comfort and cushioning for the most demanding yogis. Due to the mat's weight, we recommend it for those practicing at home or commuting to a studio.
What type of practice is the FLOW mat intended for?
The FLOW mat is best suited for dynamic yoga practices - hot yoga, Bikram yoga, Pilates, and any type of high-intensity exercise, as its grip increases as you get hot.
How to avoid slipping on the FLOW mat?
The FLOW mat is designed for dynamic yoga, so its top layer is made of microfiber, which activates when wet. When you first touch it, you might be surprised by its smoothness and low grip, which distinguishes it from traditional mats offering a firm grip. However, as practice heats up and hands and feet become damp, most mats become slippery, but not this one. Thanks to its absorbent properties, the FLOW mat provides stability and grip during the most intense practice. This also means that at the beginning of practice, when the body is not warmed up, the mat may feel slippery. To immediately activate the grip, it's best to lightly wet your hands and feet with water or lightly spray the mat with water.
What type of practice is the PRO mat intended for?
Due to its reliable grip, the PRO mat is suitable for all types of yoga, and is also reliable for Pilates and exercises where stabilization is the most important.

How can I clean the FLOW, FLOW Travel, FLOW Nano and FLOW Long mat?
It's best to wipe the FLOW, Travel, Nano, and Long mats after each use with a damp cloth. For more stubborn stains, they can be machine washed at a maximum temperature of 30°C. Do not tumble dry them or use detergents. It's best to lay the washed mat out to dry. To dry faster, wrap it in a towel. Do not dry it in direct sunlight. Prolonged, direct exposure to sunlight can accelerate the biodegradation process.
How can I clean the PRO and PRO PLUS mat?
After intense practice, leave the mat unfolded to dry. It's best to wipe it with a cloth dampened with water. For more stubborn stains, you can add a drop of dishwashing liquid, lemon juice, or white vinegar to the water. The mat should not be machine washed or tumble dried. The mat should not be left in direct sunlight. Prolonged, direct exposure to sunlight can accelerate the biodegradation process.
Where do the greasy stains on my PRO mat come from?
Applying greasy creams to the skin immediately before practice can cause streaks and dirt to appear on the mat. This stain should gradually disappear, especially after cleaning the mat several times. However, it is recommended to avoid applying creams, lotions, and any other greasy skincare products before practice.
Does the PRO mat contain latex?
The bottom layer of the PRO mat is made of natural rubber, which may contain latex, but the top layer, which comes into direct contact with the skin, is latex-free. However, if you have a latex allergy, we recommend taking extra caution and consulting a doctor to ensure the mat is completely safe for you.
Do FLOW and PRO mats oxidize like other natural rubber mats available on the market?
Oxidation or minor changes in texture may be a side effect of natural rubber products. It's important to store the mat in a dry place and avoid direct sunlight, as this can accelerate the biodegradation process.
Why is the PRO PLUS mat heavy?
The PRO PLUS mat is heavier than most traditional mats. This is due both to its 4.5 mm thickness and the nature of natural rubber, which is denser and therefore heavier than synthetic rubber. We recommend this mat for on-site practice—when commuting to a studio or practicing at home. You'll appreciate its excellent cushioning and above-average durability.
Will the PRO mat last me a long time?
How long your mat will last depends on many factors, including how often you use it, how intense your practice is, and how you care for your mat. Natural rubber is a durable material, but it is subject to wear and tear. It is also 100% biodegradable and doesn't have the negative impact on the environment that synthetic mats do. For us, the best mat is one that, in addition to its undeniable quality, doesn't harm the planet. However, natural rubber wears out faster than synthetic materials. With prolonged practice, the mat will wear out, which will affect its effectiveness over time. For this reason, we can't offer a lifetime warranty on the mat. However, we are confident that if you take proper care of it, it will last a long time.
What can I do to make the mat stick to the floor once it is rolled out?
If you store your mat rolled up, try rolling it with the printed side facing out. This will ensure the corners adhere to the floor during practice. In other words, store your mat as it arrived from the Joy in me store.
Why am I slipping on my newly purchased FLOW mat?
A newly purchased FLOW mat may feel slippery at first. This is because it's covered in factory residue, which reduces its grip. For health and hygiene reasons, it's a good idea to wipe it down with a damp cloth or wash it before using it for the first time. This will soften the microfiber, providing a better grip, ensuring comfort and safety. The more time you spend on it—stretching, strengthening, twisting, and stretching—the more it will adapt to you. It will become soft and grippy. Simply put, your practice will improve.
Where does the intense smell of the mat come from?
The odor is not related to the oxidation of any chemicals, as none are used during production. This odor is characteristic of all products made from natural rubber and fades over time. To speed up this process, you can keep the newly purchased mat unrolled for the first few weeks, preferably in a well-ventilated space, such as one with access to a window, but away from direct sunlight.
