I focus on what's important to me right now. Interview with yogi Kasia Tochman-Filip

This year, we managed to organize our first Joy in Me trip! We took the girls to Zakopane, surrounded by beautiful natural surroundings, for a ski touring trip combined with yoga. Meet Kasia Tochman-Filip, a yoga instructor on the go and a passionate advocate for mindful eating. She tells us about her love for Poland and Spain, unique encounters, and endorphins.

You live and teach yoga in two countries – Poland and Spain. What do you value about these places, what do you like most about them?

In Spain, I found peace, sun, and waves. I love the people in Poland; I have friends and family here. I also visit the mountains here; my first and greatest passion is snowboarding. Even though Sierra Nevada is about 300 km away, I still fly 3,500 km to the Tatra Mountains because I have the most wonderful girlfriends there.

Why did you become a yoga teacher? What do you gain from teaching others?

For me, human contact is the most valuable thing anyone can experience. I most often teach at retreats and workshops. The moment someone approaches me after their first yoga class, asking where they can sign up because it was great, is the greatest satisfaction for me.

Why did you love Spain?

River topic :) I live by the ocean, so instead of running in the morning, I go surfing. In my town, it's truly deserted and beautiful in the off-season. Total peace. I don't run around the city, I don't get stuck in traffic, and I spend the time I save with my family. The people are incredibly nice. No one here overworks, but everyone has time for walks on the beach. I'm still learning this peace and quiet, and I still change my mind when a driver stops in front of me to say hello and chat with a neighbor.

You're very active, you surf, you exercise. What do you get out of exercise?

I'm actually a bit of a lazy person, so going to yoga every day when it's pitch black outside and so warm under the covers is a real challenge. But without movement, I feel awful. When my body is strong and flexible, I feel free, every movement is a pleasure; the more I move, the more I need it. Endorphins.

This is your second trip with Love Love Life. What do you like about these trips? What makes you want to go on them?

Girls, girls, girls. This is an energy that can't be described. Girls from different cities, with diverse stories, united by one passion. Fire. After a few hours, we feel like we've known each other for 10 years.

What do you admire about Girls? What is our superpower?

I admire girls just as much as boys, but the truth is that socially we have more roles to fulfill. We bend over backwards to meet these challenges, and although we don't always succeed, I feel like I'm surrounded by superheroes.

What guides you in life?

My life is constantly changing, and with it, my perception of what is important and what has meaning. I've learned that nothing is certain and that everything is possible. I focus on what's important to me right now. Sometimes I have to let go of some things to pursue others. I have degrees in economics, psychology, and sexology. I became a yoga teacher in Spain. U never know.

I'm checking out your Instagram and seeing beautiful places. Do you have a dream place on Earth?

It's certainly not one specific place, but I'm increasingly escaping to nature; I need to be "grounded." The energy of the city is great, but after two days, it becomes overwhelming.

What makes you happy?

These are individual moments, moments when I feel it in every cell of my being. While it may not show on Instagram, life isn't a fairy tale. Everyone has their own problems and challenges. Even if you live in the most beautiful place on earth, you have dark days. But I try to capture the moments when I feel like I don't need anything more, that everything is perfect just the way it is.

You're a passionate advocate for mindful eating. You founded Brain Salad, a company that produces organic CBD oils. What's your mission as a company?

Above all, we want to raise awareness about how to care for your well-being (wellness). We believe that the power of plants is key. Many people take care of their bodies, yet completely forget that the body and mind are two very closely interconnected mechanisms. Our goal is to restore balance and harmony in the body by reducing the impact of harmful factors such as stress, fatigue, and chronic pain.

Your favorite recipe?

Coffee from good beans with a few drops of CBD oil in the morning.
